Frequently Asked Questions:
I Get a lot of questions through DMS, So I Wanted to address the most frequent ones in one space
How long have you been woodburning?
On and off for 9 years. I used to wood burn for like a week or two, then drift off to do other things for 4-6 months. I also used to burn animal bones to make runes and other more specialized spiritual and ceremonial accessories.
Jan 2024 was my first chicken burning. And currently I have been burning since late March 2025 after a yearish break.
What is your pyrography machine?
I use:
- a generic versatool for geometric pieces
-Walnut Hollow Creative Woodburner Wire tool
- my main machine is a WEP 939D-II
Open commissions?
Not currently. They may be accepted on a case by case basis but I have an upcoming solo show in December at a local hospital. Only commissions that would be accepted in theory are pets/animals.
Did you always want to be an artist?
Yes, since kindergarten
Do you have a TikTok?
I had one for a grand total of 4 hours one afternoon in 2024
Will you be a part of my group or duo show? Or do a Solo?
Sure? I do live in northeast Ohio and have a neurological condition that makes plane travel absolutely awful, so I may not show up to the opening, but my art will.
How do you choose your warmups?
If the algorithm shows me something I enjoy, I'll maybe try to burn it.
Where can I buy your work?
at Art Luvas LLC in Houston, shows, if you randomly text me a photo of a painting and you say you wanna buy it. I'm not picky.
Do you have Synesthesia?
I get asked this a lot. I'm not sure. I think I just watched the visualizer for Windows media player too often as a child because that's what I see in my head when I hear certain songs.
Do you have any formal art training?
No. I actually failed all of my art classes from high school on. I am probably the one person to get an F in photography. I majored in psychology with a minor in sociology in college, and dropped out after 4 years for several reasons. This is hilarious because I got my first gallery show several months after failing my college drawing 101 course. I gave my art professor prints of my first gallery work. He returned them graded. We have fun.
I like the piece you made, where can I get it framed?
One of the portions on my website will be prefered framers by region. Currently my framer recommendations only include three states. So I may contact you a few weeks after you recieve the piece and ask about who you went with/their website so I can link them.
Personally, I have found that taking a backing out of a picture frame and replacing it with the piece works great.
Can you come out and draw my animals directly?
No Geese. When I was a freshman in college I went on a date with a lovely gentleman and he decided to hiss back at a wild goose. It promptly told all its geese friends and from then on, we have had conflict. Fourteen years later I feel like geese still have an active BOLO for me.
Other than that, yeah I mean I can travel to your place and take photos of your animals. Fair warning though, the water in rural Kansas ruined my giblets so thoroughly that I can only eat like six things safely and almost two years out I still puke an inordinate amount, but I mean... if you're cool with occasional random gagging, and someone that appears "too sweaty" at any given moment, sure.
